Each week dozens of people just like you volunteer their time to serve at St Mary's. Whether it’s helping kids learn about Jesus, welcoming first-time guests, or creating environments where people can encounter God through Production, every volunteer is making a difference.
There’s a serving opportunity which suits your personality and availability. Take a look at a few of our teams, and let us know how you'd like to be involved!
WELCOMING
One of the most important jobs on a Sunday is making those who arrive at church feel welcomed, whether it's their first time or they've been coming for years.
PREPARATION
It takes a lot of love and care to ensure that the church looks amazing for Sunday and everything is ready. Whether it's helping with the flowers, setting up for Communion, or updating displays your help would be very welcome.
WORSHIP
Music lies as the heart of how we worship God. If you are a singer or a musician we'd love to hear from you. There is more information available on the Worship page.
PRODUCTION
Running the sound and visuals on a Sunday is a very important job which requires skill and focus. If you're quick with computers, have a good ear for sound levels or are keen to learn, please let us know.
CLEANING
The church is a large building and it takes a team of people to ensure that it is always looking its best for all the people using it. If you'd be willing to run round with a Henry Hoover every so often we'd love to hear from you.
PRAYER
Prayer is available during or after services. If you would be willing to pray with people, we would love to have you on the team. More details can be found on the Prayer Page.
HOSPITALITY
Help wake everyone up on Sunday mornings by serving tea, coffee, biscuits and cake. The hospitality team also helps with catering for church events. Please get in touch if you could lend a hand.
OCCASIONAL
From time to time we carry out one off tasks such as tidying up the church yard, clearing out the galleries or setting up for the Fête. These are short and intense bursts of work but a sold and committed team is essential.
